Red

Red….or was it maroon?  Again, the conflicting images on the main screen and the laptop made it hard to determine the true color.  Someone said ‘looks like Campbell Soup red’.  Another said ‘almost red’.  Yet another said it was ‘so red, not an off-red, not pink. It was bright, flaming red.’

Anyway, there was big balloon sitting next to Amma during the end of Devi Bhava that pretty much matched Her sari.  Some child had given it to her during darshan.  I’ve never seen a maroon balloon, and since red is common balloon color, by process of fuzzy color logic, Amma’s sari was probably also very red.

After Amma had finished showering flower petals on the gathered crowd, Amma threw some at the camera – showering all of us here as well.  Then when Amma went in the Mandapam, the laptop was eventually brought inside and we chatted for about 10 minutes with Her.

It’s such a blessing to see Amma over the web every few days.  We all miss Her so much. And just those brief moments when Amma is chatting with us makes it that much easier to be here without her physical presence.  The other evening, Amma called for bhajans to be broadcast here – it was around midnight and unfortunately I missed it as I am fighting a virus and needed to rest. But I could hear it from my room.  Amma sang ‘Mata Rani’ and when she shouted ‘Mata Rani Ki…..’ the whole Ashram resounded with ‘Jai!!!’.  I even managed to lift my hands up in the air and respond as well.  After bhajans and Arati, Amma had the laptop brought right next to Her chair and She proceeded to chat with us while She was giving darshan.  I hope Amma does this again so that I can see it.

Next Devi Bhava sari color challenge:  Milan.

  1. I feel AMMA might wear white in Milan!!!Just the current hunch!!!

  2. or SANDAL / CREAM?

  3. I always try to feel Blessed Amma is always listening to my every thought, word and action and more, much more.
Therefore Blessed Amma is always with me in greater ways than sitting near her body.
I do not ‘miss’ Blessed Amma, for she can not be away from me. It is impossible because she is with me in ways one can not communicate.
Amma always is wearing a mask/masks. The color of her sari is for play; nothing more.

  4. For AMMA all colours are matching
remembering a Devibhava photo of olden times ( about 20 years old)
AMMA is having Black colour Saree. In another Devibhava AMMA is wearing a Pure White Saree (in this AMMA looks like Saraswatidevi) and in another Devi Bhava AMMA is having Green saree. There are other Devibhavas in AMMA is having Pure Yellow (Peetha Vastram -like Lalithambika), Dark blue, Peacock blue, and so on. But Maroon colour sarees Amma is having in several Devibhavas. Cream colour comes next to maroon. In the First Devi Bhava Darshan AMMA give to this AMMAs son AMMA is in bright Crea.

  5. In bright Cream. This Devi Bhava in which AMMA is wearing bright Cream saree is so important to this son not only because it is the First Devi bhava Darshan AMMA gave but this is also the special time when AMMA gave this child Mantradeekha. In all colours MY AMMA is beautiful we can not compare one colour to another in AMMA’s case.

  6. In Chicago this year, Amma wore a stunning blue sari with gold embroidery! She looked like Krishna and Devi both at the same time!!!! STUNNING!
