It was about 12.30 in the night, I was returning to my room after watching the webcast of Amma’s Devi Bhava in Munich.

We in Amritapuri could not get the video to work properly while Amma was talking to us before the start of Devi Bhava.  She could see us and hear us, while we could only hear Her but could not see.  So, while listening to Her, my mind was somehow struck with a feeling that She was going to wear a maroon red sari this night.  I was not speculating intentionally, but it was just a natural feeling that I got.  The video streaming started to work as soon as Amma started Devi Bhava. And it gave me a blissful jig in my heart when I saw Amma in a maroon red sari with Her eyes closed with flower petals in Her hand, sitting with that majestic, beautiful countenance of Divinity personified!

The joy of harmony with Her was swarming within me while I was on my way back to the room. It was such a quiet night, with a gentle breeze caressing me so softly and lovingly. It was Mother herself following me in the form of this gentle breeze, carrying me in Her beautiful arms, I felt!  My heart lept to its poetic mood, when I saw the breeze gently fondling the small branches of the trees standing in front of Amma’s room.  Those tree-sisters of mine, who are in constant penance to catch a glimpse of Amma while She comes down from Her room on Her way to  Darshan or Bhajans.  Maybe, Amma is fondling and consoling them also, as they could not even join us to watch the webcast! They shed a few yellow flowers, when touched by the breeze, as an offering to the holy feet of Amma.

And then my head turned towards the sky which was so clear, with a hallowed moonlight spread thru its divine vastness. It was almost a full moon.  I was standing near the spiral stairs leading to the Darshan hall, watching this. There was very little light outside that area.

The beautiful atmosphere around, along with a blissful presence of Amma within, suddenly took me back to a Divine Night some 15 or 16 years ago, somewhat near the same spot, but with a simpler, rudimentary background….. Let me take a moment of silence and join you back soon…..

  4. Having fallen at my Blessed Guru’s Lotus Feet, all time fades and disappears. It is all God’s play. For has Blessed Amma’s gaze changed one iota in all these years, Nay! Look at the B/W molding photo’s of 20 plus years ago and look at our Guru now. It is indeed the same timeless look.
Oh blessed brother you hold my hand as we walk and you weep this sweet perfumed memory, walking me to nirvana.
