Puppy Love

The Amritapuri environs was charged with excitement. The Day : April 22’07 . You’ve guessed it right–it was the Bhava Darshan day. It seemed to have come after ages

There was a mood of heightened celebration in the air. As my wife, and I got out of the flat and moved to towards the canteen to have breakfast –we encountered this bundle of joy. She was jumping around, sniffing strangers, trying to make friends. She was a brown cuddly puppy with a dash of black on its snout and a flash of white on its paws. She was just a few weeks old –and though alone didn’t feel lonely; as if she had a lot of people to care.

And that’s how all of us feel in Amma’s kingdom. The whole world may be against you –so to speak. But once you come into the circle of Amma’s grace, you feel you just feel that you are in the centre of gravity- of a perpetual celebration.

Soon my wife and another ashramite got to get the puppy to come near. And then she just lay down in total surrender–which made the onlookers shower more love . A lesson which those who have experienced Amma fully will testify. Surrender your egos and distorted mindsets at the feet of Divine Mother and then see how one’s life gets transformed.

Meanwhile at the main darshan hall ,Amma after a morning round of darshan on Sunday morning came back as the clock struck 5 in the evening for the glorious session. Starting with satsang & bhajan, the doors opened for the breathtaking moment that the tens of thousands were awaiting with bated breaths. Amma in resplendent glory started with bhava darshan .
And it went on all through the night and the next day till about 10.30 am, when Amma arose to shower her pure love in the form of flowers and petals and her divine gaze which struck a direct chord with each one of the ecstatic devotees assembled at Amritapuri.

And coming back to the puppy–when at about one in the morning when devotees were running brief errands to their rooms or canteen or bookstall, they still saw the puppy enjoying the company of many, and was the cynosure of all eyes.

Be a puppy in Her presence and see what can happen to each one of us
