Here are some nice events with Amma from the time she spent at the German ashram before the Europe tour started:

At the ashram, there are two houses named Durga and Shakti. Amma walked down from the gravel road to both the houses. It leads one through a hilly garden, full of trees, ponds, flowers and a little bridge. Amma was leisurely walking down the steep path and looking at the scenery. Then she went into Shakti house, were she is staying, and walked straight to the kitchen looking for some prasad to give to all of us. It was some of the tour group who have not been flying with Amma and some local people and the ashram residents. So maybe all together 30 people. Susi got out some chocolates in a bowl and Amma gave to each one along with a kiss on our cheek. It was so private, so small.

Bhajan time was on, but no bhajans happened. Then Prana, Santosh’s mom, insisted that we should have bhajans and Rasya brought the harmonium. We started singing late, at around 7.30 pm, and sang without microphone, which was wonderful, it was just sweet and innocent. Till about 8.20. Then we decided to sing Mahisasura Mardini Stotram in the end and then Arati. When we just finished the stotram,  Amma walked into the house!! Just before Arati!!!

Amma wore a red long fleece coat. Then she sat on the chair and looked at everyone. As she started to give out food plates. Amma looked over and smiled and said, that ashramites got lot of practice serving the food this way at her birthday. Then Amma explained how food and water supply was organized for her birthday. The devotees were organized in groups, with letters of the malayalam alphabet, since it has 52 letters, Brahmacharinis were in charge of a group of 300 or 400 people and made sure they had bath, toilet, got accommodation and food, she would call the kitchen to tell them how much uppuma to make…I was wonderstruck and asked how Amma could organize all this details herself. Amma just smiled humbly.

Heike showed Amma some veggies from the new veggie garden they have here in the ashram. Amma was so happy about it, especially about the bitter guard. They gave some to Amma which were fried, Amma liked them a lot, I asked if they tasted the same as in India, Amma said they did. Amma said that this vegetable is so good for health, for diabetes patients and also for digestion in general.

After the main dish Amma also served us a desert. Then Amma explained how in India, Amma had made once in Madurai Unniappam for her Ashram children. It was shown on Amrita TV, then many devotees saw it and thought Amma likes these. But Amma had made them only for her children. So they started bringing her unniappams. They make it with so much love, they chant mantra while they make it and also while they travel to the ashram, they hold it in their hands, keep on chanting their mantra, even when traveling 500, 1000 or 2000 km to reach the ashram, they wont put it down, because it was for Amma. So much love and devotion!

It was so sweet the way she explained all this.

Then finally she sang a song and played an ocean drum of Susi. It has the sound of ocean waves. Amma was so focussed in finding out how to play this. but no one knew the technique.
Then Amma got up and walked through the whole building, Kitchen, downstairs storage room for kitchen, the snack shop, just everything. Since it was late night, she couldn’t go to see the apple trees.
