It was a cloudy morning in Amritapuri. Amma came out of her house early for a few special group photographs with recent graduates of Biotech school of Amrita University.

After the photographs had been taken in front of Her house, Amma looked up at all of the people standing on the back of the temple balcony, waiting for Her to enter, and asked,
“Why has everything been set up inside the temple? I am going there !! (the main hall for giving darshan)”

She promptly turned and walked towards the main hall.

Immediately everybody panicked because nothing whatsoever was setup in the main hall!

Everything and everybody was inside of the temple, waiting for Amma.

People at the western canteen were chopping vegetables and finishing their breakfasts when they suddenly saw Amma coming by, totally unexpected!
Quickly they stood up from their chairs and hastily greeted Amma with joined palms, meanwhile about 80 students were following Amma along to the stage.

When Amma was about to enter the stage She looked back and noticed the gate had been closed and all of the students were waiting behind.

She told them to open it up and let them all come along with Her… They came running in excitement and were overjoyed!

There were a few brahmacharis meditating quietly on the stage who were shocked to see Amma coming, and they stood up realizing that nothing was prepared.

At the same time people from all directions came running with the prasad boxes, fans, carpet, chairs, Amma’s chair, and everything that was needed for the darshan.

Amma began giving darshan while all of the things arrived and were set up around Her. After about 15 minutes the setup was complete. Amma continued giving darshan as usual. It’s truly a blessing to live with the Guru and witness her delightfully unpredictable nature.

Anything can change at any moment, as Amma keeps you awake and alert.

This is a great beginning for Holi, today’s traditional Indian festival. Let’s see what else Amma has in store for us today. Maybe we’ll see colors flying through the air?

  1. Happy Holi..AMMMAAAA <3 <3

  2. A Maha Guru’s actions are so spontaneous, swift, and error-free, it really awe-inspires all.”Aum Amriteswaryai Namah”

  3. Just as Radha and the Gopis were coloured in the dark-blue hue of their beloved Lord Krishna, and Meera prayed to Him to colour her in the beautiful colour of His love, May AMMA’s children assume the colours and hues which SHE chooses to fill them with. Then everyday will be a veritable Holi!
