Running up and down the flats today I was totally exhausted. Taking mattresses to peoples rooms, opening locks, putting up notes, checking rooms, receiving complaints etc, all contributed to the fact that I felt more dead than alive today when bhajans started. That is a part of the busy season here in Amritapuri and especially so on the accommodation side, where on some days up to 90 people from abroad check in.
In any case I dragged myself down to the hall and the stage for bhajans even though all I wanted to do was sleep. But the moment Amma walked on stage I felt uplifted within and had new energy seemingly out of nowhere. Everybody has had this experience with Amma but it never ceases to amaze me how Amma’s mere presence or even the sight of Her can raise the mind upwards. With just a glance She can renew once inner state to a great degree. She transmits purity, strength and grace in all directions every second of Her life. That is a wonder that takes place constantly around Her. Even if one is far away from Her but just thinks intensely of Her it has the same effect.

Tonigh Amma sang some classics interspersed with new songs:

Jai Gopalaka Jai Hitakari
Irul Tingi Valarunnu
Vandyikyunnen Amme Ennil
Japu Me Sada
Amme Bhagavati Nityakanye Devi
Nirajanam
Om Namah Shivaya
Sollariya Nin Pukazhai
Jai Jai Kali Ma

At the end of the bhajans the little girl Sita came on stage again and started using the other kids heads as drum set and the initiated a wrestling match behind Amma’s back, which she won. Quite a pandemonium . I couldn’t help but laugh at her boldness and innocence.
