Dancing Party

Tonight the stage was full of kids and it was evident from the beginning that they restless with energy. The little girls beside me kept nudging so I would give my attention to them for various things. I could barely close my when one of them would come up with something new. Amma kept turning around to them every now and then, and would also glance at me with a mischievous smile probably as I was looking a bit lost with what to do with all these children that were getting wilder and wilder. Having come to live a spiritual life in India 10 years ago as a young man, I’ve never really had a chance to develop much babysitting skills. In any case around Amma you have to learn all kinds of new things. This time however thought that I would just watch and learn. Amma called one Italian/American devotee over to bring also his toddler over to add to the gang. Amma sat the little boy next to herself for the rest of the bhajans. He kept giggling to himself and pulling Ramu’s beard every now and then. Adorable creature.
Then the party started and one by one the little girls started dancing and whirling around like dervishes. Pandemonium was around me. I tried to keep my cool to the end amidst all this wildness and I guess I managed somehow.
I do have to mention that Amma looked ever so endearing and beautiful as she played with the little one sitting next to her. I hope I will one day (re)gain the innocence needed for Her to look at me with such love.

She sang the following bhajans tonight:

Sita Ram Bol
Viphalamo Ennute
Meri Sunle Araj
Kalpantarangalkkum
Ammayalle Entammayalle (Telugu Version)
Om Namah Shivaya
Ni Yentre Veraru
Vedanta Venalilude
Hail To Your Glory
Varde Mata Jagadambe Mata
