Mother, can a droplet be separate from the ocean,
And boast that it could exist alone just only as one,
No, its pride vanishes when the mighty sun soon rises,
Lo! Vaporized, it‘d disappear in a fraction of minutes.
Mother, can a fledgling fly far looking at the sky,
And boast that it can reach the end of the vast sky,
No, its vanity diminishes as it flutters a few feet up,
Lo! Falling, it’d find crawling on the ground to fly up.
Mother, can I be separated from Thee even for a second,
And boast I can accomplish that Thou canst make around,
No, very soon it ends up with my tiny ego blotted out,
Ah! Mother, ne’er be separated, thus Thy child cries out.
