Who am I?

Mother, when senses were my guide,
Thoughts of selfishness kept me slide,
Mother, never did I wonder “who am I?”

Mother, when pleasures amused and ruled,
Diseases dashed with the mind so lowered,
Mother, never did I ponder “who am I?”

Mother, days and nights so many rolled,
Seasons and monsoons many enthralled,
Mother, never did I enquiry “who am I?”

Mother, it is Thy sheer unconditional grace,
Showered torrential yet so mild as breeze,

Wow, I now wonder, ponder and enquire,
The highest vedantic Truth, “Who Am I?”

  1. Thank you for the beautiful poetic thought. After reading, I too realized that the same inquiry came my mind too after coming to my beloved pyari Maaa. Amma sharanam

  2. A blessing from the Most Blessed Sri Ramana Maharshi
