Faith is what we believe in, and what we want to happen.
My living manifestation of faith is Amma. I have faith that all that She does has a reason, and is the perfect thing to do in that situation. I also have faith that She will make sure that no harm will come to any of Her devotees that wouldn’t have a positive effect. I have put all my faith at Her Feet.
Faith is the natural response of creature to its creator, like a child that does not need DNA evidence to cherish it’s Mother. There have been times when Fatih has walked me through rings of fire, and nowdays Faith is a single candle in a dark room. But most of the times Faith has many friends; trust, patience, love, hope and courage. I have Faith in Amma.
I met AMMA for the first time in February, 2002. A few months later, I was offered a job with a far higher salary and my preferred place of posting. I decided that I would seek AMMA’s advice before accepting it. To my surprise, AMMA discouraged me from taking up this job. My faith in Her was total and, therefore, I declined the offer. 3 years later, I found that all my colleagues who joined are not woking there anymore and are in inferior positions elsewhere.
total acceptance or surrender !!
Amma said it once in her satsang that acceptance is the right word,
no examples, because my faith is not real.. ( as of now )
when everything goes against you, when life seems to be in a mess, when the world seems to be against you, still If you have the conviction that God or your Guru is taking care of you, that is true faith.
Ever since i met Amma in 1998, i found that visits to Amma’s ashram brought me peace. I always wanted to go to the Math as much as possible, but my parents, and then my husband beeing non-beleivers, didn’t help. So, i always prayed to Amma and knew that she would bring me closer to Her somehow.
Through the following incident, Amma showed me that faith never goes in vain: My husband wanted to buy a flat. After a long search he was only satisfied with one flat… Amma’s Miracle! The flat is just 10 mins. away from Amma’s Math in Chennai!
Faith in God or Guru never goes unanswered. Just keep faith and wait…
Faith as brought to me by my Blessed Guru is the sublime, subtle beyond all subtlety, that manifests in one’s life by utterly believing in the magnificence of Truth that is your Blessed Guru in All Things. By living this more and more the blissful moments multiply and spread into your world beyond all measure. This is my example. OM, OM, Guru OM.
Belief in God is the faith that removes our blindness.
faith is total surender to your guru . accepting whatever comes in your life as your gurus blessing whether good or bad.faith is the symbol of love that one has for his/her guru…..
Devotion, Love and Faith – 3 qualities a sadhak seeks. These are mentioned in Amma’s bhajans together, hence one of them does not exist without the other two. Living example of manifestation of Faith in my life – I have Amma (Guru saakshath parabrahmam). What more do I need?
Most religions talk about Faith in God – to have complete trust in the guru’s words and actions without question. The most incredible thing is that we have Amma incarnate. We can go directly to Her – She will help us strengthen our faith and help us to surrender. We just have to want it to happen.
Faith in Amma for me is constantly evolving. Amma’s love and tenderness has strengthened this faith. My big question to God has always been that if He does not come down to the level of the devotee, how will there be faith since the seeker is still at a mind-body plane. Amma has beautifully shown me through various experiences that indeed Guru/God does this and this has increased my faith. To surrender and not worry in all situations should be the outcome of faith and I hope I am evolving in this as well.
i’m not really sure i know what faith is – this is a hard question and i am wondering about ‘faith’ a lot now. if amma says it is ‘acceptance’ that must be true..
i think for me faith is an ability – that i am sometimes more adept at using than others – to not listen to my mind when it says ‘No, this is crazy!’.
one example for me was at devi bhava in san ramon a few years ago – i was supposed to be going to the airport to catch my flight back home which left at 11am, but somehow leaving to rush to my plane seemed absolutely insane when a living goddess was manifesting on a stage right in front of me.. so i didn’t leave.. as soon as it was over i got to the airport as quickly as possible, and ultimately ended up arriving home EARLIER because of how my new plane connections worked out..
Faith = Love + Receptivity
Faith is total surrender to Amma… You stepping aside and asking Amma to take over…. That is a state of total acceptance…. The feeling of Good or Bad will cease to exit…. Transcending the pair of opposites…. Then each moment of life will become a celebration…
Faith is the first step towards acceptance. Even to take one step towards guru/god, faith is required. Faith is always followed by surrender, love etc. I am really blessed to have Amma as my guru/ mother /god, and thankful for her continuous guidance in my life.
Andamayittu vishwasikkuka… This is told by amma. There is no other good definition for it.
“Like when we are in middle of sea, in a boat, with row lost. There is no light around and also huge waves ready to overturn the boat. We have no other way to escape other than calling god for help.”
Such a state of mind is maybe aith.. Now, we can develop it with help of ammachi. 🙂
Faith (Shraddha or Vishwas) is just one word and can’t be described with some other words.
AMMA’s omniscience is not new for Her children. Many a times, I felt AMMA’s supreme grace and guidance in this world of darkness. The only safe-guard or mantra is to have “FAITH” in AMMA’s unconditional Love and Her power with all our physical and mental limitations (too many to mention …).
Faith is to believe without questions, without any second thought or doubt… Ever since I have met Amma, this reinforcement of faith has happened so many times that I have lost count. Amma has been my inner strength and my guiding light in every phase of my life… I can feel Her presence walking beside me and taking every step with me, for me… This very feeling to me, is faith…
Faith is trust and believe. Trust in Amma and believe that whatever the outcome, She is there; holding my hand and helping me row through the waves of samudra. Amma has shown me this so many times in my life and since I am a work in progress, I still fail to see it immediately. One example of this is that I now have faith that my husband will get better because Amma has taken him into Her arms. And even if he does not make it, Amma will make sure that he does not endure pain and She will give us the strength to face this. She is holding my hand everyday…….that is faith
faith is to trust the soul / amma and not the mind.
I guess,
If there is true Faith, one is able to SMILE all the time!!!
Faith is the firm conviction that Amma-the only form of God which I have seen in reality -will always protect me from all kinds of adversities. She will never let Her children perish. If the entire world turns against us Amma will be by our side. She is the only ‘person’ who truly loves us. What ever happens to me is Her will and for my own good.
Faith is total belief that whatever is happening around us is what should happen at this time and it is for our good only. Amma gave me experiences that built faith in me. It is with Her faith that I have faith in Her. My mother has so much faith in God that she can sleep with the door open or cross a road with traffic going in all directions and believe that no harm will come to her because God is there.
Faith is a very important factor in our lives. We sleep with the faith that we will wake in the morning. The faith is always related to the unknown…The known requires no faith as it is already known. The swamis close to Amma often say that they still don’t know who Amma really is, but they have the faith that Amma is the Ultimate Truth. The poet Tagore said: “Faith is personified in the bird that sings in joy when the dawn is still dark” He believes that the sun will soon rise. This is the kind of faith we should have towards the Guru.
Faith is where Reason stops.
Faith is sustained belief.
Faith is when there is no doubt (Nisamsaya)
Faith is total surrender to Amma . I am really blessed to have Amma as my guru/ mother /god.To surrender and not worry in any situations should be the outcome of faith.I have put all my faith at Her Feet.
Amma saranam
Faith is the outcome of pure untainted love. Jai Jai Ma Kali!
