Darshan ,The embrace…
the most interesting movie i’ve ever watched…
truly it’s amazing…
” The Reader “. Kate Winslet was not in my great actors list, but now she is. ” Blood Diamond ” is another movie that i liked..
“Ramayana” by “Percept Picture Company Team” and it’s so lively with the Animation of Lord Rama and Lord Hanuman in realistic way.
I cried seeing the hindi movie Taare Zameen Par. It is a touching story of a boy who has problems in reading and writing. His parents shout at him, and ill-treat him for low scores in studies. finally Aamir Khan who is the teacher comes and transforms this boy. It is a lesson for all parents, which is dont treat your child like a marks-producing machine. Children need love even if they dont deserve it.
I just saw The Kite Runner last night and can’t get it out of my mind. It is about two boys growing up in Afghanistan. One well-to-do escapes to the US; the other, a servant boy, who gets killed. The boy/man from the US then returns to the land of the Talibans to rescue the servant boy’s son from an orphanage where every child seemed to have a missing body part and the once beautiful landscape is turned to dust and rubble. (It touched me even more because around a week ago I had met an Afghan refugee at Amma’s Devi Bhava and saw her revived by Amma’s love. Though she said her language was English Amma spoke to her in her native Farsi…)
The movie that i saw is a korean movie named MY SASSY GIRL…and SERENDIPITY…(english) amazing!!!!!!!Im sure there are lot of us who believe in destiny and these two movies, completely emphasise on it… I was completely touched by seeing them, though the actors were not known to me…!!!
“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”, Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett (the film received thirteen Academy Award nominations)
Very weird story which makes us think about life in general, about our own life, and about the specific people sharing our life and the relationship between us…
Amazing and unusual story…
I’m very picky about movies, I saw “Revolutionary Roads” yesterday with Kate Winslet & Leonardo Di Caprio, I couldn’t finish it. It didn’t catch my interest, but it doesn’t mean it’s boring for everybody.
Movies with real meaning & moral are very rare lately. That’s too bad!
Video of Padpuja of my DIVINE AMMA. While watching it I was visualising that instead of Swamiji I am sitting there and doing padpuja and chanting 108 of my Divine AMMA. From that moment I am requesting AMMA to make this possible physically also.
Bee movie 🙂 …it is really a funny animation movie…i have watched it four times already…i love those innocent faces of the bees in that movie..a good one…
i watched baraka from dvd and it’s stunning. it starts with scenes depicting spirituality from around the world and then runs the gambit of native cultures to modern day world, leaving no aspect of the modern world unnoticed. it’s the kind of movie amma would watch with her children. amma told she would watch one last movie with us. who knows how this will be fulfilled?
To answer this question i have to see a movie. Actually i have no habit of seeing a movie completely by sitting and waisting 3 hrs and that much patience is not there in me.But some time i use to on the T.V. and at a time use to see 4 0r 5 channels by the play of remote. So an allround idea will get and iam satisfied with that. But there are some Malayalam movies like Kilukkam and Manichitrathazhu i think, i had seen the entire part.In Kilukkam l liked very much the character of the Heroin Revathy. How naturally she hiding her original nature acted like a mad girl?i liked the dewality .And in Manichtrathashu the Heroin Shobhana had done a fantastic and amaizing work. The twin persanility of a woman was wonderfully showed.I think every one will have twin personality.
The other night Arpita, George, and I watched the old films of Amma from 1982 in the Ashram kitchen. I have a copy of it at home but I haven’t just sat and watched it in a while cuz I haven’t had a tape playing machine in a while. It is so incredible to see those old scenes. Where ever the original 8mm films are, I hope they are being stored and cared for properly.
“What the bleep do we know” (this is the title!) (the affect of words on water and loving actions on life)
Abide as the Self: The Essential Teachings of Ramana Maharshi
A beautiful and profound documentary on the Maharshi. Every moment, every photo, every scene is blissful. His simplicity, serenity, humbleness and deep looks bring tears of bliss. I strongly felt He is an incarnation of non-dual existence like Amma.
Recently i got a good chance to see a video movie of His Holiness chinmayananda swamiji. Swamiji was taking classes to Students.T he topic was Vivekachudamani. The expressions in the speech are unique. Swamiji’s way of talking and his great personality are unique. I noticed a funny thing that in the middle of speech how gracefully he picked up the container of the snuff powder and keep it in the middle of two fingers?
Currently I’m watching Ramayana series by Ramanand Sagar. I will be seeing Amma soon and this movie is inspiring in me so much devotion for Amma. I believe Amma is also an avatar of Lord Vishnu like Rama & Krishna. Om Gurur Brahma…
The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The filmography is just stunning, and so is the acting. They also teach about selflessness and sacrifice, which is so rare in modern movies.
I was very touched only seeing the preview of a documentary film called ‘the heart of Jenin’. A man from Palestine lost his 12 year old son shot by israelian soldiers. He decides to give his son’s heart and other organs to save isralian children. Tears came into my eyes feeling that this is the attitude of forgiveness Mother wants from us.
I hardly ever watch TV, but I love movies. They are about sharing beauty and insight. My favorites: Whale Rider, Gandhi, Water, What the Bleep, Arctic Tale, Chocolat, Romeo & Juliet (old Zefirelli’s version), Celestine Prophecy, Bride & Prejudice, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, etc.
All Amma’s movies are most interesting. I watched “Amritavarsham” early in the morning today [4:30 am UAE time] and “The World in Her Hands” yesterday evening before bed. It’s always nice to watch Amma’s movies before bed. Amma Sharanam.
I would love to watch cinemas in difference languages of Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and English. Recently I saw “Kambak Ishq” hindi cinema.
“Pursuit of Happiness”. I was touched by this movie’s portrayal of an educated man’s attitude and courage when faced with tough times.
Of late I have rarely seen any nice movie. But I like films of Aamir Khan. He is really an amazing actor. Sometimes I feel watching his movies that He has God’s Grace flowing in his work of Art. Same is the case with directors like Anurag Kashyap (that reminds me the recent movie i saw was Gulal by Him and was amazing)
Slum Dog Millionaire.
Reminded of my life story from Slums in Mumbai. Started my life in Ashram and now, after many years, going back to Ashram.
Into the wild, a very beautifull movie about freedom based on a true story…
