The stars are lovely, bright and far,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I reach Amma…
I have a bay window that faces East, so I usually look out of it very early in the morning before the sunrise starts. Whenever I’m outside at night, I look up at the sky and I’m always amazed at the expansiveness of it!
Not usually, But I see a rabbit inside the moon….Anyone has seen it too?
Looking at the vast sky I usually see Ammachi’s smiling face and moon as her “pottu”….
Oh! This question brought sudden saddness… realizing how much I miss out on enjoying such wonderful moments!
I think I do so only once every few months… (I ‘see’ the moon more often, but ‘getting lost’ with the stars is the most precious)
I’ll try now to remember to look at the sky and open up to my universal friends the moon and the stars more often. So precious! In such moments, I can clearly feel Amma’s presence witnessing my ‘perceiving’ heart and soul…
Except on rainy and cloudy days,
Watching the stars’ and moon’s ways…
Is one of the favourite moments to spend at nights,
Gazing in the midst of cool breeze, with AMMA’s thoughts…
Makes forget the moody and coarse worldy worries
Rejuvenating the spirit with AMMA’s divine love and light…
Late at night/early morning when the local world is asleep, go up onto the roof and gaze at eternity. One can easily imagine the awesome expanse of God’s Eternal Pure Silence.
every chance I get. If the stars are out, I always look up and connect with the various constellations, stars, and planets that I had learned a few years back. Lately, I’ve been taking notice of the waxing moon as the sun sets while meditating on the roof of the flats.
How can I choose? It’s like asking whom you like better Rama or Lakshmana?It is said that Rama would not go to sleep unless Lakshmana also slept by his side. So we have the stars lying beside the moon in total devotion and love.We cannot choose one over the other. When God has bestowed so much beauty, why not just sit back and enjoy it instead of choosing one over the other? 🙂
I don’t see the twinkling stars and moon that often but i would love to! The last interesting thing I remember is when Amma was her in San Ramon last week, there was one night when the moon was right on top of the temple and it had a huge moon ring around it. I believe this is due to light getting refracted from ice crystals. It was a beautiful sight!
YOu know, I look at the moon every time, but rarely do I see stars!!! NOw that I think of it, I miss getting lost in the enormous field of stars.
Very few times. Due to high level of pollution only moon is visible in my work place. When I visit Kerala I take time to see moon and stars especially late night when the whole world is fast asleep. The real feeling during that moments is to dissolve myself in to that expansiveness.
Whenever I get a chance…I love to watch and enjoy, it’s so beautiful …..so mysterious

I usually notice the existence of moon only on full moon days and stars when it is pitch-dark even at 6’o clock in the morning
During my childhood days I wonderd if I could see astronauts when they land on the moon !
Everytime I am outside during the night, I gaze at the stars and admire the moon… It always brings a sense of happiness and fulfillment when I get to spend some time with them.. 🙂
Whenever they are visible. Amma is the Moon in my mind. Soft and sweet and soothing and loving and so special. It is very serene yet cheerful sight.
As a child i was able to sleep outside under the stars and moon a lot and breathing love to the Evening Star has been a practice for most of my life.
My most sacred time is saying ‘hello’ to evening stars and saying ‘goodbye’ to the dawn’s lingering stars as the Sun is greeted. My Grandfather gave me the Evening Star when i was a small child, with the instructions to send love to it. He said he would do the same. It was a sacred ritual that kept the heart open and a reminder that a little love goes a long way and is not bound by time, situation, age, distance, life or death.. And perhaps the Moon and the Evening Star illuminated the path to Amma. I love the evening sky.
Sometimes i feel that they are looking at me, it’s like a million eyes watching … and i feels so happy……………… even though i am so insignificant, the whole universe is there to see what’s happening to this child….
sometimes I only have these stars and moons to talk to.. and they patiently hear my crazy thoughts over and over again….. and sometimes it’s the silence that we share…
sometimes i feel like these stars are stuck somewhere, alone in this mysterious universe, for millions of years, and yet they don’t forget to twinkle once in a while and make a child here on this earth smile….. 🙂
The best experience of watching stars and moon for me was during my sailing days. I used to enjoy watching stars and moon at nights standing on the deck of my ship in the middle of oceans… I could see horizon 360 degrees around and together with the sky, I used to feel like being covered with a dome fully decorated with stars and moon… I am missing those beautiful nights since leaving the sailing job and took up a shore job…
I look at the stars, and the moon when it’s out, several times a week. It makes me think of the vastness of God. Amma is the moon and the stars adorn her! Namaste.
I liken the whiteness of the Moon to AMMA’s saree, and the Stars to the twinkle I see in AMMA’s smiling eyes when HER gaze turns to you.

After 8pm i usually go out for a walk after Satsang at an ashram. It is very beautiful to look at the moon and stars. When i see the full moon i remember the bhajan ‘Amriteswari susmita chandramukhi’. When i see the twinkling stars i feel that my beloved is smiling at me.
whenever i look up at the sky and find a carpet of stars i am lost ..makes me realise i am such an tiny bindu in this beautiful galaxy and yet my God knows i exist. She created me with so much love, She lead me to Her Beautiful form on earth and She protects me tenderly incessantly.. i feel humble and grateful and sorry if i am not living upto Her expectations.. May Amma help us in this journey towards perfection.. Jai Jai Ma Kali!
I see the moon ,some time weather takes it turn,but in Auckland (NZ)
one is lucky if he/she can see the star and moon together.This country is more populur u can see four season in one day.
