  1. Yes, I feel so. May be with their “Poorvajanma Sukritha” they could meet AMMA earlier. But very much thankful to HER, for choosing us as HER children even when we were leading a worldly life with these “vasanaas”. AMMA, please be in our every breath, in every drop of blood, every moment – guide us AMMA to cross this world of SAMSARA in the way we should…..

  2. i feel that meeting amma earlier in life does a lot of good…frm then on life transforms, and the past no longer matters, as it was for me…
but also, it depends on how long you live that determines ur luck!! 🙂

  3. I would consider them luckier if they have been coming to Amma regularly from their young age. Otherwise meeting Amma just once during childhood may not have too much effect. The regular ones are luckier in the sense that they get more clarity earlier and benefit from the effect of satsang. They would be less probable to be polluted by the worldly dirt as Amma takes control of their lives early on. If one comes later, there are lot more unwanted stuff accumulated, that needs to be cleaned.

  4. AMMA Herself said many a times: No. What matters is the Sadhana one does “Now”.
AMMA also said, many of Her children are with Her for many lives even before reaching Her again in this life.

  5. I met Amma in my middle age & have always wished if I had met in early years, life would have been different because of the choices I made with a very worldly attitude and not knowing the importance of spirituality and the true purpose of living. I believe earlier we have a guru like Amma, better the chances of making our lives worth. But its never too late at any age. My efforts now are to try harder to focus on my spiritual progress & bring Amma’s blessings in people’s lives through actions, even under my adverse conditions for this.

  6. I don’t know if they are luckier, I just wish I had met Amma when I was a young kid, so that I can play with Amma, and spend lots of time near by Amma, sitting next to Her during satsangs… Kids are so lucky! But I’m also lucky to be a grown up so that I can understand Her teachings better. I guess just meeting Amma is already a great blessing and a wonderful luck in one’s life.

  7. No not all, meeting Amma at a very young age and being in Her constant presence for several years is not very important. What is important is understanding who Amma really is and leading a life according to Her teachings. There was a time when I used to be envious of all the young brahmacharinis and brahmacharis…thinking how lucky they all are. But now I realize that it’s Amma who decides, when She should make Her presence a reality for us, what we should become…. And once when we reach Her,we should allow Amma to take decisions for us. For She alone knows what is good for us.Even if somebody meets Amma at a very young age and fails to understand who AMMA really is … ,I would say, he or she is the most unfortunate person in this world.

  8. As a Master is infinite in Being and expression, consciousness, power and knowledge noone can be closer or further away, lucky or unlucky.
A master rules the entire Universe, including the time of his own manifestation and the duration of appearance to Disciples/visitors young/old etc.
He/she cannot be bound by limitation and all is orchestrated like a symphony. Each and every living entity benefits from the Masters regardless. 🙂

  9. No,,, i dont think so.

  10. The intensity of love matters more than the age. How much we love Amma matters, not when we met Amma.

  11. It is said” When disciple is ready, Guru appears” so it is all pre-destined.

  12. Younger is good, because Amma will guide us into the right way. After seeing Amma I have some fear to do wrong thing. This is also good for achieving our goal.At last how much we changed after seeing Amma is more important than when we met Amma .

  13. Yes. Now I always feel that, I made it late to meet AMMA at the age of 30s. AMMA is with us every moment, in our every breath.

  14. younger is more receptive, so luckier.

  15. No doubt they are lucky but who meet AMMA late are also lucky because it is never late in life for learning things. When realization comes that is the best moment in life.

  16. If Amma had caught me young, then this small “i” would have been powerless. Could have been easily moulded to Amma’s requirements.
Now even if i want to change things look difficult.

  17. Yes, I think that they were ready for Amma earlier and especially, if they came under her umbrella and were open to all her experiences they were truly blessed. But late comers, who may have had to travel through more of sansara are also lucky that we at least came to Amma and her grace is always there for us to feed on. If we can let Amma make us into seeds and go under the earth, the same grace comes to everyone. Still, it would have been nice to see Amma young and with less crowds, sitting in the Kalari… I really admire those who came earlier, they were made of different mettle. They were there for the creation of the earth, as it were, and that must have been tough too. Anyone who can give up everything and live for Amma are the luckiest, whenever they come to her physically. As my soul she has been working with me for a long, long time. Finally, she said, ok you can meet me and begin the other journey.

  18. Sooner or later it does not matter.
My husband first passed the ashram in 1987, but did not see Amma.
Then upon meeting Her finally in 1999, she said to him “What took you so long?” Amma is always with us…sooner or later, it does not matter. We meet her when it is time.

  19. What’s important is how receptive you are to AMMA and Her spiritual teachings. Age is irrelevant. However, i sometimes regret that i didn’t meet AMMA sooner, because of some habitual negativities i developed earlier in life, like anger. I feel if I had AMMA’s grace to watch over me when i was a child, I could’ve developed more good habits. It’s very hard to break certain behavior patterns as we age, however it’s not impossible. Just harder, that’s all.

  20. yes! they get to sit with amma and play with her and spend so much time with her! they are so lucky!

  21. I wouldn’t have made several choices that I have made now, if I had met Amma in my younger days!!! That is assuming Amma would give the experience that she has given now..then.

  22. Yes, people who have met Amma while very young are luckier, my two children when they met amma where three and two yrs old. so they studied in Amrita vidayalam. i consider myself lucky we are the children of amma.

  23. I believe, everything depends on the law of karma, which is beyond my understanding….only Amma knows…

  24. Yes. i agree with Nityasree. The time is not important. Rather the attitude and approach. But of course the young and tender plant is easier to bend than a grown up tree. But as far as our most beloved Amma is concerned there is no difference between tender and grown up.

  25. We meet Amma when She knows we are ready to, so it doesn’t really matter when we do.

  26. From the point of inner effectiveness, meeting Amma when young in my opinion can mold the mind more positively. However meeting Amma itself is an act of Her Grace. So it doesn’t matter when that happens. It is more important that when it happens, we have the openness and humility to achieve our highest goal with Her guidance.

  27. Only when the correct time comes you are destined to come nearer to a Sadguru like Amma.I was 48 years when Amma blessed me with her Dharshan. So age doesnt matter-the inner change in attitude counts more.

  28. girija is absolutely right.
It depends whether the mold happens in her presence or not. depends on samskaras and many other things which only Amma knows.

  29. Age actually doesn’t matter, what counts is what you imbibe from the proximity of a Mahatma like Amma, who comes in your life due to divine grace. Age in this case is just a number, the values and qualities learned and put into practise are more important. That is the ultimate Guru Dakshina.

  30. Ofcourse, YES.
I believe that to be with Amma, to get Her darshan or even to know about Her would need Her wish. Also there are lot of differences being with Her physically and be with Her mentally wherever you are. All living beings – whether they are aware or not, during the course of incarnation of almighty, are blessed. Amma Sharanam.

  31. Yes and no. Pampered people and people who have to scramble to make a living each have their own, unique set of challenges when facing life. Their own ego to overcome and conditioning. Having Amma’s blessing from an early age sure is a wonderful thing, but so is meeting Amma after a hard life and finding solace. Whose tears are more precious?

  32. Amma Has Herself said a lot many times that Even if You have led a Life in Ashram after meeting Amma what matters most is “Have you grasped the Essence of Spirituality” and “Have You implemented in your daily life the expereince ” . So it actually doesn’t matter if we have met Amma when we were young or old. Only thing that matters is to be Aware of Your consciouness All the time by putting Immense effort. So the Question should be “when did you Understand the Essence of Spirituality…..?”

  33. To me- Yes, I would like to think so. My daughter, 6yrs, had a big bang on her head while playing, towards the dining table (made of wood and frosted glass). She had streams of blood flowing to the ground, all she could do was to cry and shout out “Amma, Amma, Amma” like how Amma used to do in the bhajans. I was shocked and surprised as she knows who to call at that distressing time. Amma has created a deep impact on my kids at a young age. Thankful for it.

  34. Well to be frank, as a human being, Yes; but i believe it’s obviously not the case because it’s just not enough to meet AMMA early in your life, you must learn something from her. In spirituality, an aspirant goes near the Guru not by the number of days he lives with his Guru but by sincerely dedicating himself to all that the Guru has taught him. And once you learn that art you don’t need your Guru’s physical presence because you realize that he is constantly guiding you from within.
