  1. The word’ Mother’ is the synonym for love. Depending on language, a child calls her as ‘Ma’, ‘Amma’ ‘Mum’, ‘Mom’, ‘Aayi’, ‘Baa’ and so on. But that does not make her any less loving.
The same goes for peace. As for cultural traditions, these are means to express the general happiness and well-being of people. In India, the agricultural harvest festival is common to many regions, though they may call it by different names. Onam, Baisakhi, Pongal or Bihu, they all symbolize peace and prosperity.
We should remember the underlying principle of love in all this. As Amma says,’Love and compassion are the fundamental principles of all religions’.

  2. Because human beings need for love and peace is the same whatever the society or creed one is born into.. And then, both are so basic and inherent in our very nature that they do not stand any form of interpretation. Example: Try to convince a 3 years old that selfishness(in disguise) is love for him. Chances are that he will totally doubt it even before he can formulate his doubts with words, reason and logic.

  3. God is love. God is in all beings, everywhere.

  4. Sages have already sung …
Hunger, thirst, desire for sex, sleep, fear are the same for all creatures including gods, demons, humans, animals, birds, aquatic creatures and so on.

What to speak of cultures and traditions which mainly emphasize songs and dances. It’s all the same.

Appending a few words of the first answerer …

  5. Love is the core of every being and its expression without the interference of mind(ego) and differentiating intellect is Peace..there are no boundaries whatever.. As Amma says .. we are all beads of the same string called Love or Amma or Self or Consciousness or Presence..

  6. as God made everything – Gods love and peace is in everything

it becomes palpable litle by little more inside through your own daily meditation, bhajans, heartfelt mantra, seva, satsangs and guruseva (following gurus instructions). Occassionally reading books of avatars for 15 minutes each night adds positive energy to the mind – all hopefully helping love and peace be felt from the inside out more

  7. There is so much diversity in this world, in languages, in traditions in culture. instead of fighting over which tradition is best, which language is best, lets try to love and live in peace with all. the basis of existence is love. lets realise this and accept all traditions all cultures and live in harmony in this world.

  8. Amma talks about unity in diversity. I used to think this meant transcending our differences and uniting to work together as one for the benefit of humanity. Now I understand Her words in a different way. We are already united as the pure self or love and that love expresses itself in diverse ways. In essence, though it appears that there are many cultures and traditions, there is but one world culture, a culture of love. Realizing this oneness in love brings internal and external peace.

  9. Unity in Diversity. My divine MAA says there may be two lamps but light is one.

  10. When we go to different countries, if we are able to go beyond the looks, color, features , traditions of the people in those countries and see the oneness in us and them, we can instantly connect with them and we can see the love and warmth of these people who had been strangers only a short while before. And when we are in Truth of one spirit , how can love and peace be different for anyone . It has to be the same.

  11. Priya and Devilove have found the words in my heart that ring true to answer this question for me. ♥♥♥

  12. The language and cultural traditions are man made and local or regional. But Love and peace is Eternal and Universal.God is Love and peace. That is our most beloved Amma.
Language and cultural traditions are man made for the purpose of cummunications, intractions etc.Other wise we can say it as the manifestation of Love and peace according to the climate of the Locality or region and temparament of the people of that region.Irrespective of the language the emotion behind of the word or sound of Mother,is one and the same everywhere and everytime.Regardless of the race and cast and creed and religion, and Language, the color of the blood of very being is always red only .A North Indian Red color or black color cow will never give red or black color milk.

  13. Our most beloved Amma always says that ,all of her children from different countries althogether are like the pettals of a Rose flower or a garlend made up of different colord flowers. These pettals or different colord flowers are stands for the Languages and cultural traditions and THE STRING WHICH IS MOST IMPORTANT AND NOT VISIBLE,AND WHICH IS CAPABLE TO BIND OR HOLD THEM TOGETHER.THAT IS lOVE AND PEACE AND THAT IS ETTERNAL AND THAT IS OUR MOST BELOVED AMMA.In Sreemad Bhagavad Geeta there is a famous verse There Bhagavan Krishna says that”Matta parataram nannyat kinchitasti Dhananchya,Mayi sarmidam protam sootre manigana iva”.
    (B.G.7.7)

  14. all human endever is to express, cling, defend, or celerbrate a point of veiw. However all of it takes place with in the same ‘Light’/’Energy’. The ‘Light’ beyond all and includes all. all is simply expressions of the same ‘Light’.
    As ‘chickens’ look like ‘cows’.

  15. An intresting fact about all traditions and cultures across the world is that they when expressed in their highest level, converge to only two things, “peace and love”.
May the Maha-Guru, Amma, bless all of us.

  16. Truth is One, and came all from That.

  17. Language and cultural traditions are developed in a community to help people interact better with each other and promote unity, according to the varied circumstances of each community. Love and peace are things that are expressed through languages and traditions, which are unaffected by circumstances. They spring from the true self, which is oneness. That’s why all languages and traditions are beautiful.

  18. There is so much of variety in nature- plants, animals, types of flowers, birds-each one better than the other!

Man-is also a part of nature- so shouldn’t there be a variety in Man-in terms of colour, race, language, habits, dress etc.?

Yet the whole of nature is a UNIFIED WHOLE-THE BRAHMANDAM!
Our scriptures coin it as “VASUDEVA KUTUMBHDEVA”-we are all part of the Universe-a whole family -belonging to ONE GOD!All of us need the same things-physical & psychological & spiritual.

When we realize this, we surrender our Ego and reach the ultimate goal of our Life-be one with GOD!

This is not easy for MAN-the mortal self has a big Ego. Let all of us be guided by none other than our BELOVED GURU-AMMA to realize this Goal of breaking down all barriers in this world. Her LIFE is one big example for us to follow.

  19. Her gift: Truth embodied- Truth is precious.
