  1. To say yes to life means to me to stop working against myself. To say yes to life and stop dividing and judging things according to my short knowledge. To hold myself as i am in the loving arms of the mother within me. To accept things as they are, become humble and to recognise the wiser knowing of life herself. To engage in lifeenriching activities. Well it means a never ending discovering of truth to me! I could write much more …uf! I dreamt of Amma yesterday …unfortunatly i suddendly became aware that i was dreaming and woke up. Yes!

  2. My understanding about saying “Yes” to life is “Being Spontaneous and Accepting the change” or “Showing less resistance to whatever comes up in a persons life”. I believe that a person has to use Discrimination too before saying Yes. In order to start saying “Yes” a person has to be more AWARE too.

  3. For me this means that I should accept any experience that comes my way without any denial or “why me” kind of questions. Praying for strength to do what is needed in any situation that one is placed in, should be our attitude. I just hope I can do that.
To what extent I am doing it is a hard question. I don’t think I accept tough situations that well. I complain, crib, argue, cry about them. However with Amma’s love and presence I know I can change this attitude.

  4. Life as a human is not to attain material benefits/earthly needs.. we have this life to fullfil the aim. So whatever circumstances we need to face in life, see as a grace from god to makes oneself good, rather than hiding from it or ran away from it. Always be positive….I am trying for it..

  5. Today in the morning when I opened the home page the thought from AMMA was “Remember that this present life of yours is only an infinitesimal portion of your total life”. As I scrolled down I saw the question. When we have realised our Inner Self and we have known the truth that we are not not a body but a peaceful soul who is/was/will be always there. So whatever the situation comes we should accept it wholeheartedly and in that position you will always say YES to everything and there will not be NO in your dictionary.

  6. do not give up, be positive , i am not sure to what extend maybe 80%

  7. Saying “Yes” to life as per my belief is “Accepting everything”…. This could be achieved only through “Total surrender” to Amma’s lotus feet…

  8. But saying ‘yes’, doesn’t exclude discrimination!
Life in a frog is same as the life in an elephant.
Yet, a frog can sit on an elephant, and if the elephant says, ‘yes’, the frog can have a ride on it.
Now, can the elephant sit on a frog, and in case the frog says, ‘yes’, what will be the fate of the frog?
So, AMMA says, discriminate. See the things in the true light as they are.

  9. To ‘Say yes to life’ means practicing acceptance of the current situation.
Our acceptance of both joy and sorrow with equanimity enables us to enjoys equally the ups and downs of life, to accept everything with a smile and yet advance with detachment, fortitude, humility, self-surrender and receptivity. Receptivity is the ability to accept all experiences of life without reacting to them. When we are receptive, we no longer react; for then there is only acceptance.

  10. This is a good question. I’ve often wondered about this. For me personally i have used this advice to not be so judgmental of other peoples behaviour, lifestyles, values and opinions. To accept circumstances that i can’t change that may be difficult. To relax and try to realise that everything that karma sends my way is all the divine play and on some level perfect. But yes,to still use discrimination and say yes, things are not always as good as they can be and yes, we can work at changing ourselves and the world we inhabit for the better. So this has helped me in many ways even though I don’t really understand what Amma is talking about-as usual!

  11. Accept what life (aka God) throws at you, make the best of it, and don’t complain. Just surrender to God, and understand everything that happens happens for a reason. I usually follow Her advice about 90% of the time. I try not to complain, because when others whine about things it can get annoying. Everything is God’s lila, so why try to fight Him?

  12. Whatever comes I try to accept it as Amma’s prasad. I try to deal with the difficult situation by being aware that there is a lesson to learn for me, and that I need to handle it with extra care and discrimination. I imagine what would Amma say to do if she was here, and right away I feel an unseen guidance and help from Amma. Although not always successful due to my own ego and lack of discrimination coming in the way, I feel satisfied that I tried my best and Amma will help me do better in future.

  13. Saying ‘Yes to life’ is not to preplan each step in life but rather allow and accept the flow of life… Accept failures and success equally, embrace the ups and downs the same manner… Surrender wholeheartedly to the Almighty and do all good deeds to allow and make way for God’s grace to flow into life… We only need the support of God and we can achieve anything in this world… I succeed in practising this to a certan extent, not fully 🙂 I still get frustrated over a lot of things in life 🙂

  14. Saying Yes to life means accepting everything. To achieve this, full surrender is required. Through humility we can practice surrender. To accept anything and everything is difficult but by practice and devotion to AMMA it is possible.
To what extend I succeed? Still in the priliminary level…
For this, we have AMMA as a Living example: AMMA says yes to all situations with a smile…

  15. Yes – acceptance,Yield to Eternal Spirit

  16. should be able to say ” YES ” to all ” NO ‘s ” in our life too. many time we want it to be an ” YES ” and the nature decides to say ” NO “.. we should accept the ” NO ” and say ” YES ” and move forward. 🙂

  17. openness to all that comes in Life, no matter if good or bad….acceptance of what IS

  18. Life is important and to reach enlightenment. we should be able to say YES to everything., good. inlife

  19. Saying YES to life is accepting all circumstances with equanimity – same attitude ; being balanced.
But it is very difficult for me because many times what we think is dharmic or correct is not so for others. And because we have to be in society, sometimes we are forced to accept others even if we think they are wrong. Still struggling over how to say YES….. Any comments?

  20. Although Amma gives the advice to view life as a journey (Travelling by bus….), I do find it difficult to imbibe it in my life, but this question has really made me remember it again. “YES” to life for me is true unflinching faith in Amma, taking every event in the life as prasadam, and prasadam is only accepted, no questions to arise over it. Least to say the Creator is far more concerned about us than ourselves.

  21. “Want what God wants for you,
    Love what God loves,
And You will never lose.” – Amma

  22. Saying yes to life is another expression for saying “God’s will be done.” It is accepting what is now and working with it as it is. When you say yes and accept, things become easier, but when you say no, things will become tougher because you will be resisting them.

  23. Nothing is more inspiring than saying yes to life. Amma’s these words are nothing but an all-inclusive, for people of any level..for a kid, middle aged people, old age….saying yes requires lot of courage….escaping from one life is not going give happiness in any life..since all the life are essentially same…accepting the life as such by saying “yes” is a big step forward….

  24. Amma says to say yes and accept good and bad experiences in life as God’s prasadam. Prasadam is a blessing and if we have faith then everything will definitely be for our good.
i dont gracefully accept everything. i do get worked up but in my head i have no doubt that Amma is my Divine Mother and has taken responsibility of my life. so after my initial reactions i calm down and do what i can do and let Amma steer the situation. there has always been happiness and peace in the end, there has always been a learning. with Amma in my life the saying “all is well that ends well” honestly has a lot of meaning 🙂

  25. Yes!!!!it is a very good word to use in front of our beloved Guru.Yes !!!it represents the possitive approch to every thing everywhere and everybody. Yes!!! It also shows the total surrender to the Guru. We can very bravely say yes in front of our Guru. That is the only seat that we can say always say yes without any fear. For Eg: Suppose if our Guru say to us in the midnight 12’clock, now it is morning 6’clock go and jump into the river and have a nice bath. A real disciple will say ‘YES’ Guru, now it is 6’clock and i am going to jump into the river for a nice bath. Then Guru will certainly look after his or her welfare. No doubt.

  26. Yes to everything showes the positiveness. We can able to face the problem easily with out stress.Ofcourse no doubt with Ammas grace.
