A Thousand Suns

Tuning in is meditation.
Meditation is tuning out too.
Chanting is fine tuning.
Silence becomes music.

Breathe takes world in.
Out goes world again.
Tidal waves stop here.
Seagulls of emotions fly away.
Nothing remains, except,
the grace of a great mother.

Time waits for none.
But time bows before her,
The world disappears into thin air.
Then sweet smell spreads,
the aroma of love.
Love for god.

An unquenchable thirst,
dries the throat,
drains consciousness.

Wisdom dawns slowly by its splendor.
You are free, free. Mind murmurs.
fathomless brilliance everywhere.
A thousand suns rise all around!

  1. Such a lovely, visceral taste of the bliss ambrosia.
This wonderful piece is encoded with many portals into the touches with the Atman.

    Someone’s been meditating… 😉

Thank you for your beauty, ceaseless ‘Amma-lock-on’ and forbearance.

  2. “A thousand suns rise all around!” reminds the manthra – Om sisya-samkramita-sviya-projvalat brahma varcase namah

… who has transmitted Her divine brilliance to Her disciples.

  3. The power of meditation combined with the Divine Blessings and Grace of Amma. That is the finest thing one could ever have. May Amma bless us (all the Children of Amma).

  4. The poet says (rather claims) that wisdom is dawned upon him, and thousand suns rose around him !
    Really !?
No enlightened soul would claim that wisdom had dawned upon him/her.

  5. I think the divine state of realization should only be described by a person who had actually experienced it, like Amma.
The poet here had crossed the limit by guessing about that experience and writing whatever comes to his mind, thus misleading others.
But if the poet is really describing his experience of enlightment, well, enlightened beings would not claim themselves that ‘wisdom had dawned upon them’.

Request Amritapuri.org not to encourage such things.

  6. Satheesan (the poet) answers ammajp:
“…whatever I have written in the poem is not an experience it is just poetry, put in verse form in my own way.”

  7. We can say a million suns or a thousand suns. Call it child-like.

The Supreme Effluence of the Self can’t be described, as Effulgence is the second part of the Self.

Wide reference Mandukya Upanishad – [[ The second aspect of the Self is the universal person in his mental nature–Thaijasa. Thaijasa means Chaitanya associated with the astral body in the dream state.]]

Of course, the ultimate reality is “AUM”.

  8. a thousand suns shine..-wisdom dawns by its splendor,U’re free,Free..the mind murmurs….I’ll be happy and strong..whatever happens..because parmatman is with me..

  9. Poetry is a language of heart and Amma has touched all our hearts…including yours Satheesan.

    Keep writing and Namah Shivaya:-)
