Amma, where are you?

I tried to find solace in this materialistic world
For so long, I forgot the true nature of this self,
Until the day where I got exhausted,
finding nothing which could give me happiness.

That day Divine Mother, You came as a beam of light
You took me in Your arms and hugged me
“Daughter, Amma is always with you,
seek within and not without” is what You told me,
I closed my eyes and saw Your resplendent form,
With both Your arms stretched out to me, you called me,
You put me on Your lap, showed me the way.

But now that I am seeking out to You Mother, I cannot find you,
Everything is blurred inside; maya (illusion) is taking over
In this stone-filled path of life, a lonely wanderer walks alone
Waiting for Her mother to come and take her by the hand,
to guide her and take her to the Ultimate Destination.

“Amma, where are You, where are You?”
Oh Divine Mother, where did you go and hide yourself?
Day and night, this desperate soul cries out for Mother,
Please do not delay anymore, come and see Your child.

  1. There are only two things in the whole of this cosmos. The “scenes” and the “seer”. By meditating upon Amma, we may be able to find the “seer” that resides deep within all of us. May the Maha-Guru’s divine blessings flow to everyone.

  2. It’s a natural crying of a spiritual novice
when he gets smashed by the torrents of duality, Dvaitha.
    Well written. Thanks for sharing.
